Hercules has glacoma
He will be on drops from here out treating for an infection as well. He has no tear production in the right eye. Vet suggested ophthalmologist
I am really bummed out.
Have any of you dealt with this? Recheck in 2 weeks she had the cone on him but he seriously could not breath (could have been excitement getting away from the dogtor)
Deep breathing worried but all we can do is drops for now

I love my canine eye vet! My guys (except for Stormy) have pk and are on drops.
Glacoma is painful! Eye vets use different tests and different meds to treat problems! I wouldn't hesitate to go to one! Seeing meds working and Hercules feeing better quickly!

So sorry to read this. Sending best wishes and positive vibes for Hercules. I hope the drops help!! And I hope the re-check shows some improvement in the tear production and the infection is gone.

My ophthalmologist was actually cheaper than my vet regarding the tests etc, unfortunately Scruffy got glaucoma and then an infection and it would not clear up and was painful and that is why she eventually had to have both eyes removed, at different times.

Yes after the 1st visit the follow up visits with the eye dr are cheaper than regular vet. We love our eye DR he is super nice to the dogs and overall a very nice person. I have all my Pugs checked by 2 Years old . Bruno has great eyes he is in a 2 year check schedule. Rooney just started drops for PK. He was and is on a 6 month schedule. JJ is too young.Gordon and Henry were on yearly schedules.

Thank you that is comforting. This is my first Pug to have these issues, Meelah had an ulcer rupture so she was a Princess Pirate it never bothered her to have just one eye.
